An 86-year-old Manning man, Raymond Casanta, died following a two-vehicle collision on Wash Davis Road in Clarendon County, South Carolina, on Friday, December 19, 2025. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the head-on crash at the intersection with Rowe Drive, about 5.8 miles south of Summerton.​

The incident occurred around 12:09 p.m. when a 2020 Volkswagen traveling south collided with a 2000 Saturn heading north; both vehicles had single occupants. Casanta, driving the Volkswagen, was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries, with no autopsy planned per Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell.​
