Tire marks on his body: According to deputies, a woman killed a man with an SUV and then "suspiciously drove by" police the next day in a car covered in blood.

Phoebe Grace Armstrong, 28, from Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, faces a murder charge for allegedly intentionally running over a man with her white 2019 BMW X3 on November 30, 2025, killing him during a domestic dispute.

Incident Details

Deputies discovered the unidentified victim’s body on North Edenvale Road (also referenced as Whistler Road) on Johns Island on December 1, with tire marks on his body indicating he was crushed by a vehicle. An autopsy by the Medical University of South Carolina confirmed blunt force trauma to the thoracic cavity as the cause of death, consistent with a motor vehicle impact. Armstrong and the victim had an extensive history of domestic violence, with both previously listed as victims and perpetrators.

Evidence Against Armstrong

While deputies were at the scene, Armstrong drove by suspiciously in her SUV, which had dried blood on the exterior—later confirmed as the victim’s via forensic testing on the undercarriage and wheel well. GPS data from her phone placed her vehicle near the scene between 8:00 p.m. and 8:33 p.m., contradicting her claim of dropping him off elsewhere and going home. Cellphone video showed her in the driver’s seat as the victim walked away during their argument around 8:25-8:28 p.m., and gas station surveillance captured her inspecting her vehicle with a flashlight afterward.

Arrest and Status

Armstrong was arrested on December 16, 2025, and booked into the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center without bond. Charleston County court records list her first appearance for February 6, 2026. The coroner’s office has not yet released the victim’s identity.
