On December 4, 2025, 24-year-old Gianni Desree Hamilton was arrested in North Charleston, S.C., after allegedly driving a silver Hyundai Sonata past a stopped school bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop sign on Greenridge Road near Crossroads Drive. Other drivers honked at her vehicle, prompting a North Charleston Police Department detective to stop her on Crossroads Drive near Sorrell Avenue.
Incident Details
Hamilton admitted during the stop that she lacked a valid driver’s license, and the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. Police discovered her license had been suspended six times for unpaid tickets, and the car bore a Kansas temporary tag she claimed to have found at a Circle K after a prior stop; a search revealed additional tags, including a stolen Ohio plate reported by Hanahan Police.
Charges and Outcome
She faced charges including passing a stopped school bus, driving under suspension (third offense), operating an uninsured vehicle, possession of stolen goods, and habitual traffic offender status. Hamilton was booked into Charleston County Detention Center, and the vehicle was towed; a court date is set for January 14, 2026, on select charges.
