North Charleston, South Carolina – With less than a week until Thanksgiving, some organizations are trying to make sure families have all they need to enjoy a warm meal.
The North Charleston Police Department will host its annual ‘Day of Thanksgiving’ turkey handout on Monday.
People can attend the drive-thru event in the parking lot of the Charleston Area Convention Center, where turkeys and hot meals will be delivered between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, at the Community Resource Center (3947 Whipper Barony Lane), Mercedes-Benz Vans is hosting its fifth annual Thanksgiving turkey handout for those in need.
To register for a free turkey, call Ms. Michelle at 843-499-9498. The distribution begins at 11 a.m. and will continue until supplies are exhausted.
Turkey and holiday trimmings will be offered during “A Day of Thanks and Giving” at the Charleston County School District 4 Regional Stadium (3659 W. Montague Ave.) on Monday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Greater Unity AME Church (744 Coach Road) has announced that it would have a turkey giveaway on Tuesday in Holly Hill. The event starts at 10 a.m. and ends when all products are gone.
Finally, the Town of Hollywood will do its annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The distribution will take place at 5150 SC-165 in Hollywood.
