Berkeley County, South Carolina — A man is facing charges after the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office discovered methamphetamine during a traffic check.
Deputies were patrolling near Strathmore Road and Jedburg Road when they noticed a vehicle without headlights and a faulty brake light.
During the traffic check, officials said the driver, 50-year-old David E. Myers of Bowman, promptly alerted officers that neither he nor his passenger have a valid driver’s license.
“Deputies requested a K9 to the traffic stop based on Myers’ and his passenger’s behavior and conversation,” the sheriff’s office stated. When K9 Nash arrived at the location, he alerted to the vehicle, and a bag containing approximately 28.58 grams of methamphetamine was discovered during the search.
Myers was placed into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center on charges of ‘trafficking methamphetamine, 28 grams or more but less than 100 grams.’
