New Museum Opening in Greenville Featuring Historic Exhibits

A new museum exhibit opening in Greenville, South Carolina is drawing attention with a focus on historic displays and local heritage. The Upcountry History Museum in downtown Greenville is launching the “America the Beautiful” exhibit, featuring large-scale photography celebrating the nation’s landscapes and historic moments, opening February 15, 2026. This exhibition adds to Greenville’s vibrant museum scene, which includes permanent and rotating displays highlighting regional history, the American South, and influential figures and events from Greenville County’s past.​

The Upcountry History Museum itself is a Smithsonian Affiliate and the largest history museum in the area, known for its interactive storytelling of the Upstate’s 300-year history including settlement, industry, Civil Rights, and local transformation. Alongside this new opening, visitors can explore current exhibits such as “Black Pioneers: Legacy In The American West” and “D-Day, June 6, 1944: The Memory Lives On,” both offering deep dives into American history and notable moments.​
