Watch: A traffic cone is used to save a raccoon from the ocean

Nov. 4 – While taking a sunrise walk along the Atlantic Ocean shore in South Carolina, a couple used a traffic cone to rescue a raccoon who was struggling to swim.

Will DeLeo and Elizabeth Heffron were walking along the shore in Charleston recently when they spotted a raccoon struggling in the water below.

They observed as the fatigued animal tried without luck to find an exit from the water, so they decided to wade in and aid.

A video posted on Instagram shows DeLeo move a nearby traffic cone to the ledge and lower it into the water, allowing the raccoon to grab grip.

DeLeo was finally able bring the raccoon back onto dry land after it slipped off the cone many times.

The raccoon took a time to rest on the ledge before dashing away from the area.
