MUSC will hold the annual Angel Tree lighting

Charleston, South Carolina – The Medical University of South Carolina will perform a tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday as part of its annual Angel Tree campaign.

Hospital employees and community members are welcome to “adopt” an angel from the tree and donate gifts to Tri-County children in need.

The angels are children from local families who have been identified by The Salvation Army of Charleston as in need. The goal is to ensure that every child receives a gift to open over the holiday season.

People will be able to adopt and shop for gifts for four weeks, culminating in a “Angel Tree Parade of Toys” at MUSC on Tuesday, December 9.

The tree will be featured in the ground level lobby of the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital (10 McClennan Banks Drive). The tree lighting will occur at 5:30 p.m.
