Shelby units for rent remained largely unchanged since September

According to fresh statistics from rental marketplace Zumper, apartment listing costs in Shelby remained almost steady from last year’s median of $1,199.

The typical flat posted for rent at $1,200 in September. Shelby’s median listing prices are going slightly lower from $1,216 last month.

The data includes all bedroom sizes, from studios to four-bedroom units, in the defined metropolitan region. According to Russell Middleton, Zumper’s co-founder, it reflects the median rent for all current listings at any given time during the month. The data includes new development, but excludes listings that are currently inhabited or no longer available.

Shelby has one subsidized rental listing among 65 total. When those are subtracted, the overall median rent for listed flats rises to $1,223.

One-bedroom apartments offered for rent at a median of $949, 4% higher than in August, when they were $913. One-bedroom rental prices have risen by 15% since last year, from $825.

Two-bedroom apartments available for rent were 7% lower than in August, with a median price of $1,025, down from $1,098. Two-bedroom rental prices have declined somewhat since last year, from $1,028.

Statewide, North Carolina rental listing prices are fairly close to the August median of $1,757. One-bedroom rentals were offered for an average price of $1,239, which is almost the same as the August average of $1,250. Two-bedroom rental listing rates are going slightly lower than August’s average of $1,481, at $1,455.

The average apartment for rent in Shelby is 31% less expensive than the state median. One-bedroom rentals were 23% lower than the state median, and two-bedroom rentals were 30% lower.

Apartment rental listing rates nationwide fell slightly from $1,925 last month to $1,900. One-bedroom rentals across the country are listed for a normal price of $1,550, which is almost the same as last month, while two-bedroom rental listings are roughly the same as last month’s median of $1,831.

Shelby’s average unit for rent is 37% lower than the national average. One-bedroom apartment rentals were posted 39% below the national median, while two-bedroom rentals were priced 44% lower.
