Hilton Head Island, South Carolina Hundreds of people gathered at the Port Royal Golf and Racquet Club this weekend for Hilton Head Island’s annual Concours d’Elegance and Motoring Festival.
Attendees and owners can browse the past, present, and future of automobiles, motorbikes, boats, and, starting in 2025, airplanes, as well as compete for awards in a variety of categories.
Some attendees had their first taste of the event this weekend.
Bill Fiorello told WSAV, “I love cars.” “We’ve been to Mecum and Barrett-Jackson, but never to a Concours d’Elegance. It was on my bucket list, and now I’ve completed it.”
Bill was joined by his wife, Marie, who highlighted the distinctions that guests encounter at events such as the Concours.
“I love pre-war (vehicles) and you had a lot of that,” he told me. “Normally, when you go to a city auto club, you don’t see pre-war vehicles; you just see hot rods. It simply has a little bit of everything. The car show was well-organized and clean, making it the greatest one we’ve ever attended.
Others view the event as a yearly excursion.
“I originally was involved with the Concours d’Elegance in the Philadelphia area,” Craig Kandravi, the owner, remarked. “Then we settled down here permanently. We’ve been attending this event every year just to stay active. “It’s a fantastically planned event.”
His wife, Marie, told WSAV that the gathering provides opportunities for reunions and other activities.
“I would say (the best thing) is getting up with our friends from up north and seeing the latest automobiles from the big cities in the area. Cars are our hobby. “We value quality.
