SOUTH CAROLINA— The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that injured two persons early Sunday morning, according to officials.
Around 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim on South Forest Beach Drive. A 17-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound and taken to a medical institution for treatment.
Later, officials discovered that a second victim, an 18-year-old boy, had already been transferred to a hospital before deputies arrived.
During the investigation, deputies discovered a car involved in the shooting. When cops attempted to halt the vehicle, it fled, but a tire deflation device was used to end the chase. Several occupants were held, and two suspects were apprehended.
Erick Alexander Martinez Ambrosio, 18, of Bluffton, faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and aggravated breach of peace. Jonathan Ambrosio Reyes, 17, also of Bluffton, was charged with fleeing to avoid arrest, failing to stop for blue lights, and accessory after the fact to attempted murder.
The circumstances behind the shooting remain under investigation. Anyone with information should contact Master Sergeant Seifert at 843-255-3414.
