North Charleston, South Carolina. The Community Resource Center in North Charleston will organize a food distribution event on Wednesday to assist families affected by the government shutdown.
The Community Resource Center is assisting anyone who may be affected by the probable suspension in SNAP payments on November 1.
This comes after Gov. Henry McMaster announced on Tuesday the activation of the Central Carolina Community Foundation’s One SC Fund. As part of this declaration, McMaster also stated that the South Carolina State Guard will help food banks throughout the state in response to the impending suspension of federal SNAP payments.
This enables even more groups, such as the Community Resource Center, to devote their whole attention to serving the community.
Food distribution will take place at 3947 Whipper Barony Lane, North Charleston, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
