Arizona’s summer temperatures are extremely hot, and an extra hour of daylight in the evening would increase the use of air conditioning and cooling systems, leading to higher energy consumption.
Hawaii does not observe daylight saving time due to its tropical latitude, where the length of daylight does not vary much throughout the year, making the practice unnecessary.
