More than 18,000 people across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties are currently unemployed, according to the latest data from the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (SCDEW).
To address the growing need for jobs, two major job fairs are scheduled this Wednesday in Moncks Corner and North Charleston, along with the launch of a new resource centre for families needing employment and financial guidance.
Job Fair at Berkeley County Administration Building
The Berkeley County Government will host a job fair for in-house county positions on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Berkeley County Administration Building in Moncks Corner.

SC Works Trident will hold its third annual Public Service Career Fair at the Charleston Area Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Trident United Way Opens Resource Center in North Charleston
Also on Wednesday, Trident United Way will launch its new North Charleston Resource Center, located at 6296 Rivers Avenue.
Named the “Center for Strong Families,” this facility will offer:
Career coaching
Employment assistance
Debt reduction and credit-building education
Help with basic needs and financial challenges
The center aims to provide long-term support for families in the community who are navigating difficult economic situations.
