Minneapolis, Minnesota – Sincir Malik Porter, 21, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after allegedly stabbing his 25-year-old roommate, Abdirahman Adan Abdirahman, to death following an argument over $15. Porter is currently being held in the Hennepin County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Details of the Incident
The fatal altercation occurred on Sunday at a residence in Minneapolis, Minnesota. According to a probable cause statement obtained by Law&Crime, police responded to the scene after receiving calls about the violent incident. Upon arrival, officers observed a large amount of blood on the floor and walls of the living room. Abdirahman was found on the floor with a stab wound to his neck. He was immediately transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witness Accounts and Surveillance Video
Witnesses told police that Porter and Abdirahman had been arguing shortly before the stabbing. According to their accounts, Porter allegedly stabbed Abdirahman in the neck during the argument and then fled the scene. One witness initially believed Porter had punched Abdirahman, but then noticed the blood coming from his neck.
Porter reportedly told the witness that Abdirahman had “made me flash out.” Law enforcement also discovered that the home had surveillance cameras, which captured the entire altercation. The footage showed the two men arguing over $15. Porter was seen holding a knife, then switching hands and allegedly stabbing Abdirahman in the neck. Abdirahman appeared to prepare to fight back, unaware that he had been stabbed, before collapsing to the floor.
Porter’s Arrest and Admission
After fleeing the scene, Porter was located by police in another area of the neighborhood. When he saw the officers, Porter allegedly admitted, “Yeah, you got me.” After being read his rights, Porter confessed to the stabbing and told police that he had thought about killing both Abdirahman and his other roommates in the past. He also stated that his other roommates “were lucky they didn’t get in his way.”
Legal Proceedings
Porter has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and remains in custody at the Hennepin County Jail. His bond has been set at $1 million, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
