Tyus, Georgia – A 17-year-old girl in Georgia has been charged with murder for allegedly killing her mother and stepfather in February, while her 6-year-old sister was at home and found the bodies. Sarah Patrick, from Tyus, is facing two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault after the deaths of James Brock (45) and Kristin Brock (41).

The Tragic Incident

According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the younger daughter found the bodies of her parents inside the family home at 1531 Carrollton Tyus Road on February 20. She reportedly then told Sarah, who made the 911 call. Ashley Hulsey, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, described the younger child as “probably the saddest victim in all this.”

What Happened

When police arrived at the Brock residence, they found both parents dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Sarah Patrick was at the scene when authorities arrived. Hulsey mentioned that James Brock had a history of heart problems and had survived numerous heart surgeries, including possibly waiting for a heart transplant before his life was tragically cut short.

The Investigation

Hulsey said that there was “mountains of evidence” leading to Patrick’s arrest. She also shared that the investigation is still ongoing, especially with regards to whether any other family members might have been involved in covering up the crime. When asked if Sarah Patrick tried to hide the crime, Hulsey confirmed that she did not immediately tell authorities what had happened, raising suspicions about her actions.

Arrest and Charges

Authorities revealed that Patrick’s biological father turned her in after learning that she had arrest warrants for the Brock killings. Hulsey noted that investigators are continuing to speak with Patrick as part of the ongoing investigation. She also said, “It’s very possible others are involved as well.”
