Mount Pleasant, S.C. – Fireworks lit up the sky across the Lowcountry this Independence Day, with a sold-out show at Patriots Point. The event, held aboard the iconic USS Yorktown, offered a unique celebration of America’s independence.

For many attendees, celebrating the Fourth of July at the USS Yorktown made the event feel extra special. “It couldn’t be a better place to watch the fireworks and be an American,” said attendees Sarah Jones and Chad Smith.
The evening was filled with music, food, and, of course, fireworks, creating a festive atmosphere to honor the nation’s history and freedoms.

Attendee Hannah Stiles expressed her feelings of patriotism, saying, “It’s such a symbol of the people that came before us and fought to make this possible. To have this freedom and honor their memory is a beautiful, joyful occasion.”
With a sold-out crowd of 750 people, the event attracted both locals and visitors from far and wide. Many attendees felt the resurgence of patriotism was a positive force for the country. “I think people are getting that patriotism back, and that’s really good for the country,” said George Sierchio and Maureen Guilfoyle.

Several guests noted that their sense of patriotism had little to do with political parties. “It’s just people feel like we’re getting wins, whether it’s the country or your football team,” said Chad Smith, reflecting the unity of the celebration.
