Berkeley County authorities are currently investigating the discovery of skeletal remains found near Stoney Landing Road in Moncks Corner. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office was notified of the discovery on June 19, shortly before 5:15 p.m..
Discovery and Recovery of the Remains
Upon being alerted to the scene, authorities worked to recover the remains. An examination by a forensic anthropologist is currently pending to help determine the identity and cause of death.
The Moncks Corner Police Department and Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation, ensuring that the scene was properly secured.
